DESCRIPTION:
This position provides strategic HR consulting and organization effectiveness and is a member of R&D HR team reporting to a Director, HR. The position will be a member of a leadership team and will partner with leaders and their staff in the following areas: Assimilation of new leadership team; partnership in organization design, leadership and employee development and coaching; team development; change management; talent management and development; culture development; driving retention and engagement. The position will be responsible for supporting the leadership team and extended leadership team in the development of an HR strategy aligned with the business priorities. These strategies will align with an overall HR strategy as well as with R&D objectives. This will require innovative and strategic thinking and a willingness initiative to try new approaches.
The position operates very independently and must be able to assess organizational issues quickly and be proactive in developing solutions and approaches to move the business forward. The position requires excellent matrix management skills in order to effectively support a range of clients and remain aligned with HR strategy and goals and with other sites. Building strong customer relationships quickly is critical.
The incumbent will serve as liaison with the HR Centers of Excellence (COE) to provide innovative and appropriate solutions to the business. This role will be supported in its strategic role by value-added services provided by Total Rewards, Recruitment and Talent Management. The position will carry out the HR processes related to COE strategies. The individual may hold other department or functional responsibilities. In this role, the incumbent will regularly interact with Leaders and their teams, other HR colleagues as well as, Shared Service COEs, Process Excellence, Finance and Communications. The individual will be responsible for executing on company vision of HR Excellence and Global HR transformation, providing operational support to the organization in any HR process transitions.
Qualifications:
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in industrial/organizational psychology, human resource management, business or a related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
Experience:
This position requires 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience including at least 4 years of demonstrated successful client support. A proven track record of delivery, proactive solutions and a business mindset is a must. In addition, the successful professional should have a performance record of hands-on experience in both creating and implementing customized solutions and strategies to improve organization effectiveness. The incumbent will have demonstrated capacity to skillfully communicate with all levels of employees and influence outcomes and establish credibility as a skilled HR business partner with leaders. Analytical skills and the ability to work through complex business issues and identify required HR interventions, and the ability to set priorities and manage a variety of tasks are also required. This individual must have strong demonstrated skills in organization design and effectiveness, building and developing teams, and must be capable of delivering the full spectrum of HR generalist and organizational development support to meet both current and future needs. This includes: Organizational design and effectiveness, change management and culture development, talent acquisition and retention, leadership development, performance management, succession planning, and talent development.
Travel : This position requires frequent travel within US locations and occasional international travel. Regular presence at all local sites is critically important in order to build and maintain relationships and to provide ongoing support to the organization.
