DESCRIPTION:
Position Purpose
The Site & Operations Manager reports to the Vice President and has the leadership responsibility for establishing direction, priorities, and day-to-day performance of the site.  This position has direct responsibility for manufacturing, assembly and test, manufacturing engineering and product quality, as well as facilities.  Indirectly, the position is responsible for materials, design engineering, quality systems, purchasing, human resources, finance, commercial/sales and information technology.

Essential Functions
The Site & Operations Manager is responsible for the operational excellence of the facility, defined by quality, delivery, responsiveness and cost.  This position is responsible for inventory management and working capital, and will lead the application of Lean and Six Sigma techniques, suppliers and other facilities where opportunities exist for improvement.  In addition, the Site & Operations Manager is a key member of the leadership team, and must effectively manage a diverse workforce, and help establish strong systems and processes to support operational excellence.

  • Knowledge of precision machining and metalworking manufacturing processes

  • An understanding of ISO and/or MIL-SPEC quality systems

Education and Formal Training
BS Degree required; preferably in a technical discipline; an MBA is preferred.

Experience Required

  • 10 or more years of progressive experience with an industrial and/or aircraft components company is required.
  • Experience with a highly engineered product and rigid quality requirements is desired.
  • Experience in assembly/test as well as operations is desired.
  • Low volume, high mix production experience is desired.
