eCommerce Marketing Manager

DESCRIPTION:
The eCommerce Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and growth of the business products segment by identifying, researching, developing and launching new products. The position plans, organizes, develops and owns new product lines from conceptual stages through successful product launch to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives.

Projects include working with cross-channel partners in securing approval and expanding the use of the online store within the channels. Define and manage key online enhancements that will afford efficient online cross-channel access to the eCommerce platform, offers, tools and content. In addition this assignment will be responsible for leading compensation structure and promotional/offer tactics in support of cross-channel activities. This is an exciting new category for eCommerce and will be a component for growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify, develop and execute external marketing programs and external messages to drive traffic to the online store.
  • Create and report on online testing programs for optimization of all online programs and test strategies. 
  • Analyze performance in a daily/weekly/monthly cadence including recommendation process for plan changes.
  • Develop and utilize site tools and promotional reports to improve customer experience and increase sales conversion.
  • Launch scheduled marketing programs on time and on budget.
  • Deliver customer acquisition strategies aligned with company promotional marketing schedules and message campaigns.
  • Oversee marketing team and vendors to assure accurate, profitable execution of marketing programs in media, email and affiliate programs.
  • Oversee development and implementation of leading edge strategies for online programs including social media, triggered events, personalization, segmentation, special interest landing pages and other appropriate venues.
  • Plan-out measurement methods, roll-out test programs for offers, and maintain control groups on testing. Gather, analyze and report on data for measuring profitability for each program and campaign as the measure of success for marketing programs.
  • Prepare product development objectives and schedules for all phases of product development and introduction to market.
  • Identify and develop new customer prospecting & acquisition strategies and opportunities leveraging email, affiliate partnerships, non-competing retailer relationships, and other online marketing channels.
  • Perform day-to-day activities necessary to deploy email campaigns, including: creative development, segmentation and contact strategy, email deployment and post-campaign analysis and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for further customer profiling and segmentation and implement supporting processes.
  • Develop and deploy non-campaign, triggered email programs designed to drive incremental revenue (i.e., cart abandonment, replenishment, ratings & reviews, etc.).
  • Leverage online analytics to monitor website visitor patterns and product sales and adjust strategies to optimize programs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have at least 5 years experience with Product Development to include process management, product lifecycle specifically in online marketing.
  • Must have at least 3 years of data warehousing experience including functional requirements writing, data modeling, ETL practices and querying.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in eCommerce reporting/analytics.
  • Must have at least 5 years experience managing online marketing vendors to include ROI, budget and planning.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Ecommerce, Computer Science or related area
  • Demonstrated success with key business metrics such as conversion, gross orders/sales, customer satisfaction, feature revenue and churn for those customers acquired using projects and programs described above

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge of Data warehouse concepts, technologies, and best business practices, which includes data modeling, data sourcing, data transformation, data loading, data cleansing, data integrity checking and end-user tools
  • Relevant reporting/analysis experience in the Sales, Marketing or Finance fields
  • Well-developed understanding of internet environments and web development technologies (JSP, Java, etc.) strongly preferred. Experience with HTML, Dreamweaver, Photoshop or other website creative or production skills highly desirable.
  • Experience with internet merchandising tasks including: Pricing, inventory management, banner advertisement, and landing page creation.
  • Understanding of segmentation, creative development, and results tracking and analysis
  • Knowledgeable about Online Marketing Tactics: Search engine marketing, multi-media and content management
  • Specific experience writing business requirements and business cases for e-commerce applications
