A a stand-alone business of a multi-billion dollar industrial company headquartered in the Mid-West.
DESCRIPTION:
As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the President/CEO and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing
Qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate a balance of accounting and financial skills, experience and leadership. Proper candidates must have experience with manufacturing and distribution organizations. Multi-site experience a must.
Responsibilities:
- Overall management and oversight for all accounting, finance, budgeting and forecasting activities
- Evaluate and review opportunities for acquisition of new business units or companies, including due diligence.
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions and divestitures, including preparation of offering memorandums and legal review.
- Lead negotiations with bankers or financial institutions and structure deals.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and all audit and tax requirements.
- Manage financial IT systems and infrastructure.
- Build organizational capability through assessment, development and management of key leadership positions
Professional qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership capability in building organizational capability
- Reputation as a strategic, hands-on, business and financial leader with outstanding track record and reputation for financial acumen, business judgment, leadership skills and integrity.
- Demonstrated experience serving as a business partner to a Chief Executive Officer and other members of senior management.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with investors and the Board of Directors, including the presentation of detailed financial plans and strategies.
- Track record of success leading financial planning and management in a fast-paced, results-focused business with lean operations, including smaller management teams.
- Strong cash management skills.
- Hands-on experience working on-site with management teams.
- A strong process focus and an operational finance background that combines discipline around financial controls, audit, treasury, and financial systems.
- Sophisticated external relationships/dealings with private equity shareholders, bankers and other external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of success working with lenders in a leveraged balance sheet environment.
- Strong cost accounting background, preferably in the manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to lead and manage both up and down in the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance, MBA and CPA preferred
- 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience including demonstrated ability to build organizational capability, development and execution of strategic plans and delivering profitable results
