Position Summary
The Director of Pricing will have ownership and responsibility for developing, driving and implementing optimal pricing of products and/or services to ensure achievement of financial targets and goals.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analysis, modeling, research, process design/documentation to ensure success in all pricing areas:
    • Pricing Strategies - Develop sound guidelines and strategies to support the business in pricing decisions though industry knowledge and analysis while aligning pricing to the corporate strategy.  This includes pricing as it relates to new customers or existing customers, pricing by segments and product lines being sure to capture the value the product, service or overall company brings to market.
    • Pricing Analysis -  Margin analyses by customer by product line or service, understanding drivers and obstacles of profitability, reporting/performance tracking, trend identification
    • Pricing Process - pricing structure and authorization development and maintenance.  Create and clearly define authority, interfaces and handoffs between the different stakeholders in a pricing decision.
    • Pricing Intelligence - industry price trends, competitive pricing actions
    • Pricing Systems and Optimization – use and analysis of simple models and methodologies (MS Excel) to more sophisticated bid modeling software/CRM/ERP tools.  Work through a phased approach to drive the pricing strategy and execution to the appropriate level in the organization.
  • Manage both internal and external resources to project timelines and due dates to analyze and improve pricing opportunities. 
  • Work closely with the sales organization to ensure pricing data is available and used to maximize sales efforts and profitability.
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate reporting to sales and senior leadership to dive continued pricing and profit improvement.
  • Coach and advise all when in elevated pricing decisions.

Professional Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of pricing strategy and execution
  • Excellent analytical, business modeling, process improvement, research, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strategic and creative thinking
  • Expertise in spreadsheet modeling, proficient in business plan development and capable at delivering presentations.
  • Experience with CRM or Enterprise tools (Oracle, JDE, SAP) and pricing applications
  • Outstanding communication skills

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree –Business, Finance, Economics or related field, MBA Preferred
  • 8+ years in an analytical role with recent experience in pricing
